Sprint named to prestigious CW 100 for 2013
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (BUSINESS WIRE), October 12, 2012 - Sprint (NYSE:S) has been named to the 2013 CW 100, Connected World magazine's annual list of the 100 most important and influential providers of machine-to-machine (M2M) services.
CW 100 represents the top companies demonstrating significant market traction and pursuing game-changing technologies in connectivity, as determined by the editors of Connected World and its editorial advisory board. Connected World selects companies based on a variety of criteria, including contribution to the connected devices space, and innovation in multiple markets served during the past 12 months.
Sprint's leadership includes an extensive M2M partner ecosystem, global reach and continued development of innovative solutions in such rapidly growing markets as vehicle manufacturing, connected transportation, insurance, retail, utilities, security and healthcare.
"We are greatly honored to earn this prestigious recognition from Connected World for nine years in a row," said Wayne Ward, vice president-Emerging Solutions Group, Sprint. "Sprint has continued to build on our distinctive open approach to M2M by taking the wireless carrier role to another level in the past year. This includes our development of an industry-leading core competency in the automotive telematics space, where Sprint stands alone in serving as a true end-to-end systems developer and integrator."
Sprint's open approach to M2M is built on flexible network architecture, combined with collaborative relationships among customers, partners and Sprint's dedicated team of experienced solutions engineers. Sprint brings all these elements together with a focus on understanding each M2M customer's business, then acting as an integrator to bring all the pieces together with the most efficient end-to-end solutions package for the specific need.
Sprint's secure network supports M2M solutions by ensuring accurate and reliable connectivity for an expansive range of applications. To ensure that the growing demand for advanced M2M solutions will be met, Sprint has embarked on Network Vision, a multiyear network initiative designed to enhance customers' experience with faster data speeds, improved voice quality and easier connectivity.
Sprint was also recognized in June 2012 for its part in two Value Chain Awards presented by Connected World for innovative M2M solutions. ProTransport-1 and enablers Sprint and Feeney Wireless won the Gold Value Chain Award in the transportation category. Mobile Innovations LLC and enablers Sprint, Telit Wireless Solutions and Connected Development won the Bronze Value Chain Award in the home health category.
